Tailscale on Raspberry pi for Apple TV

Hello Tailscalers, I want to use tailscale on my apple TV.

I have a Raspberry Pi with Tailscale setup and I also have a USB ethernet dongle.

How can I use the RPI as a “Tailscale gateway” for my Apple TV using the USB ethernet dongle to connect the Apple TV to the RPI.

I think this method would have a lot of use cases where clients don’t support Tailscale but have ethernet and the RPI would do the rest. I just need to figure out how to do it

Thank you all in advance, specially the Tailscale team for creating the best personal VPN IMO.

Hi, glad you like Tailscale!

You’re right, there should be nothing stopping this from working. You’ll want to read about subnet relays: https://tailscale.com/kb/1019/subnets and set that up.

Then, depending how you want to use the Apple TV, you might need to do some tricks to make mDNS work so that other devices can find it. If you’re just doing this so that Apple TV can find your remote servers or something, that may not be needed.
