Tailscale in the status bar is not responding on macOS Sonoma beta

Incident

There is no response when clicking the Tailscale icon in the status bar.
Then, when operating the keyboard, some sound effect is played and nothing is input to other software (browser, text editor, etc.).
If I force quit Tailscale when this happens, the keyboard symptom is fixed, so I wonder if Tailscale is holding the focus of the keyboard.

Environments

Tailscale: Version 1.42.0 (via Mac App Store)
OS: macOS Sonoma 14.0 Beta (23A5276g)

Thanks.

I am seeing the same behaviour. The application loads and sits in tray and the connection operates correctly if you don’t interact with it. If you click on the icon it ties up the keyboard focus until you kill Tailscale in the Activity Monitor.

Same here. It was working fine with beta1, but I see this behavior after updating to v2 today

Exact same issue here as well. Was working fine in Beta 1 of Sonoma, updated last night and when trying Tailscale today, it causes the keyboard input to drop.

Tested by uninstalling the MacApp store version of Tailscale and installing the download from the package site (Which is a point release ahead of what is on the app store) and same issue occurs.

Same issue here as OP running macOS 14 (23A5276g) and Tailscale 1.44.0.
