Safe to Leave VPN On all the Time?

I am new to Tailscale and was wondering is it safe to leave the VPN connected all the time?

I would not know why it would not be safe. What is the specific concern you have?

If you mean TailScale is “VPN”, then yes leave it on. My laptop always runs Tailscale. All my Linux boxes always run Tailscale. Since I use TailScale to handle my DNS and use a Pi as a PiHole ad-blocker under MagicDNS, I even leave Tailscale running on my phone allmost all the time.

By the way is tailscale turning off periodically on your mobile phone? I’m accessing Home Assistant via it and sometimes I can’t reach my home anymore as tailscale deactivated on my phone by itself.
