Installing Tailscale on an ASUSwrt-Merlin router

Hello, I’d like to connect all devices in my house to Tailscale via an ASUS router running Merlin. Is that possible? I saw there’s an Merlin opkg called tailscale, but installing that just results in “Illegal action” for any command I can think of (i.e. tailscale up). There doesn’t seem to be much (any?) documentation on this. I see that Tailscale is running on OpenWrt so I’m hoping it’s possible on Merlin as well.

I’m very much in the same boat (I’m behind what I learnt was “CGNAT” which doesn’t allow VPN Access as there is no IP Address) and would love to have this implemented. Newer GliNET Routers have it built in. I understand that you can (as a workaround) set up a Subnet routers and traffic relay nodes · Tailscale “Subnet Router” from which you can then access e.g. the ASUS. It seems like a workaround though, I’d VERY much rather have it native to the ASUS F/W.
