QNAP NAS as subnet router

I’m trying to setup my QNAP NAS as a subnet router. It’s running and works as an exit node but I’m going nowhere on getting setting it up as a subnet router. I’ve tried using ssh and running:

./tailscale -socket var/run/tailscale/tailscaled.sock up --advertise-routes=\192.168.3.1/24 --advertise-exit-node

but I get an error

failed to connect to local tailscaled (which appears to be running as tailscaled, pid 30116). Got error: Failed to connect to local Tailscale daemon for /localapi/v0/status; not running? Error: dial unix var/run/tailscale/tailscaled.sock: connect: connection refused

Can anyone point me to a good resource on setting up a QNAP NAS as a subnet router?

To reply to my own question. A little more research led me to this:

./tailscale -socket /tmp/tailscale/tailscaled.sock up --advertise-routes=\192.168.3.0/24 --advertise-exit-node --reset

which did convert my QNAP NAS to subnet router as well as exit node
