Multiple DNS Behaviour

Hi all,

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, i’ve read through the documentation etc and not spotted anything.

If i set 2 nameservers in the admin panel, will these be used in a round robin or some kind of anycast situation where if 1 server was unavailable, tailscale would tell the clients to use the other?

In most cases the DNS server addresses are simply added to the DNS configuration of the underlying OS (Windows, Linux, MacOS, etc). Whether the DNS servers are round robin or anycast or otherwise is a function of the operating system.
