Windows server and workstation

Good afternoon,

Thank you in advance, everyone, just going to put this out there, I am extremely new to tailscale, so apologies in advance.

We have a Windows server and several workstation laptops that up until recently have been working fine. All of the workstations have been able to access shares/files on the server up until last night. The odd thing was that we could access the shares again when we tried to connect to the Tails-specific IP address but not with the old drive mapping(DNS issues?). What changed? How can we test to make sure this won’t happen again, or is there a better way? Could someone point me in the right direction? I really would like to learn.

Thank you and Best Regards,
H

If I am not wrong, unless you setup subnets, you will need to use the tailscale IP to access the server or any device in the tailscale network.
