I’m usually travelling with my iPad using various remote tools to get stuff done that isn’t easily possible on iOS.
When connecting through tailscale (iOS 1.28 to Fedora 1.28) the remote desktop (Jump Desktop to xRDP) is significantly slower (screen refreshes are very visible, clicks take a bit to transform into an action) in comparison to connecting through OpenVPN (screen refreshes are noticable but can be ignored, actions are more immediate).
I made sure that tailscale is using a direct connection by port forwarding and checking the result using
I tried measuing latency using simple ping and throughput with iPerf3 but found no significant differences.
Is there anything else I’m missing / I could test?
